Every job starts with a message to this address. There is no form; Inês reads and answers each one herself. What happens after that is set out in five steps.
What to put in your first message
- The fibre, and how much of it. For example, 2 kg of undyed merino, or 12 m of linen at 140 cm wide.
- The shade: Névoa, Ribeira, Noite, or "I don't know yet", which is a perfectly good answer. The three are set out with their prices on Dyeing and prices.
- When you need it back. Nothing is turned round in under two weeks.
- Whether you will collect from the studio or want it brought round on a Friday.
When you will hear back
We answer within two working days, Tuesday to Friday. Messages that arrive in the first half of August, while the vats rest, wait until the 16th. If you are not sure your fibre will take indigo, describe it as best you can, label and all. We would rather say no in the first reply than after the sample card.
